04 Nov 2026 | 1 day ago |

Madhav Institute of Technology and Science, Deemed to be University (MITS-DU), Gwalior, hosted the eighth International Conference on Sustainable and Innovative Solutions for Current Challenges in Engineering and Technology (ICSISCET 2026) on October 30 and 31. The conference was held in hybrid mode, with technical support from the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS).

This year's edition received 1,426 research papers from India, Czechia, Fiji, Nepal, Peru, Serbia and the United States. A pool of 437 reviewers went through the submissions, and only 74 papers were accepted and registered, an acceptance rate of about 5.2 per cent. These were presented across 17 technical sessions, 16 held online and one in person.

At the inaugural session, Prof. Manjaree Pandit, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of MITS-DU and General Chair, gave an overview of the conference and its numbers. Dr. R.K. Pandit, Vice-Chancellor of MITS-DU and Patron of the conference, urged young researchers in particular to take up work with real-world impact. Prof. K.K. Aggarwal, Pro-Chancellor of MITS-DU and President of South Asian University, New Delhi, gave the inaugural address and plenary lecture.

The organising team also included Dr. Manoj Kumar Gaur, Professor at MITS-DU and General Chair; Dr. R.S. Jadon, Professor at MITS-DU and Organizing Chair; Dr. Sandeep Kumar of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru; and Prof. J.C. Bansal of South Asian University, New Delhi, who is President of SCRS.

Invited talks by industry professionals made up a large part of the programme this year. Security in agentic AI was the subject of a talk by Santosh Swarna Sathya Chamarthy, Senior Technical Program Manager at Saviynt, titled "Security-First Agentic AI: Identity, PAM, and Zero Trust by Design." Suresh Reddy Mallepalli, Manager of Data Engineering at BrightSpring Health Services, was to speak on data quality and governance in healthcare analytics, while Venkata Niranjan Reddy Challa of Fluor Corporation was set to present a digital twin of a payroll engine built to simulate the effect of regulatory changes.

Santosh R. Deepika Addagalla of Trizetto Provider Solutions was listed to speak on using Copilot in software development, and Onkar Khadke, Senior Software Development Engineer in Test, on applying AI to test optimisation. Saddam Hussain, Data Scientist at Carmeuse, was to discuss what it takes to build AI systems that hold up in industrial settings. On the enterprise side, Venkateswara Rao Mekanaboina, Senior Systems Analyst at 3R Info, was scheduled to talk about EDI in S/4 HANA migration and approval workflows for pricing and promotions, and Kalyana Gajapathi Raju Konduru of the University of Phoenix about using generative AI for pricing and contract decisions in pharmacy benefit management.

Rajendar Reddy Sama, Architect and Technical Delivery Manager at Quadrant Technologies, was to cover review and certification systems for large digital marketplaces. Prasada Rao Paleti, Senior Solutions Architect at AWS, was listed to speak on resilience in cloud-based tolling and transport systems, and Ramesh Kumar Varanganti, SAP Integration Lead, on how enterprise integration is moving from API-based designs to agentic AI using the Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The research papers covered AI and machine learning, computational intelligence, cybersecurity, IoT, cloud computing, digital twins, sustainable computing, energy efficiency, solar energy forecasting and smart transportation. On the second day alone, 56 papers were presented.

Selected papers will be submitted for possible publication in Springer's Scopus-indexed book series Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS), subject to the publisher's review and acceptance. Further details about the conference are available at https://www.scrs.in/conference/icsiscet2026.
