The 7th International Conference on Data Science and Applications (ICDSA 2026) was successfully held on 11–12 July 2026 at VIT Mauritius, Pierrefonds, Mauritius, in a hybrid mode, enabling participation from researchers, academicians, scientists, industry professionals, and students from across the globe. Organized by VIT Mauritius and technically sponsored by the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS), the conference served as a vibrant international platform for the exchange of innovative ideas, cutting-edge research, and technological advancements in the fields of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Computing, and Emerging Technologies.

ICDSA 2026 received an overwhelming response from the international research community, reaffirming its position as one of the leading conferences in the field. A total of 2,652 research papers were submitted from 16 countries, namely India, Indonesia, Japan, Mauritius, Morocco, Oman, Peru, Romania, Rwanda, Serbia, Türkiye, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. The diverse geographical representation highlighted the growing global interest in the conference and reflected its international reach and academic reputation.

To maintain the highest standards of scholarly excellence, all submitted manuscripts underwent a rigorous peer-review process coordinated by the Technical Program Committee. A panel of 752 expert reviewers from academia, research institutions, and industry evaluated the submissions based on originality, technical quality, significance, innovation, clarity, and relevance to the conference themes. Following this extensive evaluation process, only 195 papers were accepted and registered for presentation, resulting in an impressive acceptance rate of just 8%. This highly selective acceptance ratio demonstrates the conference's commitment to publishing only high-quality and impactful research. The inaugural session brought together distinguished academicians, eminent researchers, invited dignitaries, and delegates from different parts of the world. The speakers highlighted the growing importance of data science and intelligent computing in addressing complex societal and industrial challenges and emphasized the need for interdisciplinary collaboration to accelerate innovation and sustainable technological development.

One of the major attractions of ICDSA 2026 was its comprehensive technical program. The conference featured 33 specialized technical tracks covering a broad range of contemporary research domains. These tracks included Emerging Techniques, Data Science and Applications, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Models and Algorithms, along with numerous other specialized themes focusing on artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics, cloud computing, cybersecurity, Internet of Things, optimization techniques, intelligent systems, computational intelligence, and emerging interdisciplinary applications. The wide variety of technical sessions provided an ideal platform for researchers to present their latest findings, discuss emerging challenges, and explore collaborative research opportunities.

The conference hosted four keynote speakers and seven invited speakers, all of whom are internationally recognized experts in their respective fields. Their presentations addressed recent advances in data science, artificial intelligence, intelligent computing, and their real-world applications across academia and industry. The keynote and invited lectures stimulated meaningful discussions and inspired participants by presenting current research trends, future directions, and opportunities for innovation.

Among the distinguished speakers were Prof. Marjan Mernik, Professor, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor, Slovenia, whose contributions to programming languages, software engineering, and intelligent systems are internationally acclaimed, and Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath, Assistant Professor, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Puducherry, India, who shared valuable insights into emerging research challenges and practical applications in advanced computing technologies. Their presentations received enthusiastic participation and generated engaging discussions among delegates.

Beyond the technical sessions, ICDSA 2026 provided valuable networking opportunities for researchers, faculty members, industry professionals, and students. Participants engaged in discussions on collaborative research projects, funding opportunities, technology transfer, and future academic partnerships. The conference fostered a collaborative environment where experienced researchers mentored young scholars and encouraged interdisciplinary research initiatives aimed at solving real-world problems. The accepted and presented papers will be published in the SCOPUS-indexed Springer Book Series, Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems (LNNS).

The remarkable success of ICDSA 2026 was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the organizing committee, technical program committee, reviewers, keynote and invited speakers, session chairs, volunteers, authors, sponsors, and participants. Their commitment, professionalism, and collaborative spirit ensured the smooth execution of every aspect of the conference and contributed significantly to its overall success. The conference concluded with a valedictory session celebrating the successful completion of the event and acknowledging the valuable contributions of all stakeholders. Certificates of appreciation were presented to keynote speakers, invited speakers, reviewers, session chairs, and volunteers in recognition of their dedicated service. The organizers also expressed their gratitude to all authors and participants for their enthusiastic involvement and for making ICDSA 2026 a memorable and impactful event.

Building upon the success of its seventh edition, ICDSA continues to serve as a catalyst for innovation and collaborative research, contributing to the advancement of intelligent technologies that address emerging global challenges. The organizers look forward to welcoming researchers and practitioners from around the world to future editions of the conference, further expanding its global impact and fostering excellence in data science and applications.
