The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Uttarakhand successfully organized the 4th International Conference on Power Engineering and Intelligent Systems (PEIS 2026) on March 14–15, 2026, in a hybrid mode, enabling participation both in-person and online. The conference was technically sponsored by the Soft Computing Research Society and brought together researchers, academicians, industry experts, and students from across the globe to discuss emerging trends and advancements in power engineering, intelligent systems, and related interdisciplinary domains.
PEIS 2026 witnessed an overwhelming response from the global research community. A total of 1076 research papers were submitted to the conference from 12 countries including Bangladesh, France, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Perú, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam. After a rigorous peer-review process conducted by a panel of 585 reviewers, 131 papers were accepted and registered for presentation, resulting in a competitive acceptance rate of 13 percent. The accepted papers were presented across 23 parallel technical sessions covering diverse and contemporary research themes.
The conference featured multiple technical tracks focusing on areas such as Power and Energy Engineering, Electrical Machines and Drives, Emerging Technologies, Intelligent Systems and Machine Learning, Networks and Cyber Security, and Transportation and Energy Storage. These tracks enabled participants to present innovative research, share insights, and engage in meaningful discussions on the evolving challenges and opportunities in the field of electrical engineering and intelligent systems.
One of the key highlights of PEIS 2026 was the presence of eminent speakers from academia and industry who shared their expertise and experiences with the participants. The conference hosted two keynote speakers and four invited speakers who addressed cutting-edge developments and research directions in their respective domains. The plenary sessions featured distinguished experts including Prof. (Dr.) Satish Belkhode from the Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Roorkee; Prof. Jagdish Chand Bansal from South Asian University, New Delhi; and Mr. Raziullah Khan, Senior Technical Architect at HCL Tech, Dublin, Ohio, United States. Their talks provided valuable perspectives on technological advancements, industry applications, and future research opportunities.
The proceedings of the conference will be published in the SCOPUS-indexed Springer book series “Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering (LNEE),” providing an international platform for the dissemination of high-quality research presented during the event. The conference also fostered international collaboration by bringing together participants from multiple countries and diverse research backgrounds, promoting knowledge exchange and networking opportunities.
PEIS 2026 concluded successfully with active participation, insightful technical discussions, and collaborative engagement among researchers, academicians, and industry professionals. The conference reaffirmed its role as a significant platform for advancing research and innovation in power engineering and intelligent systems while strengthening global academic and industrial collaborations in these rapidly evolving fields.
