The 5th International Conference on Intelligent Vision and Computing (ICIVC 2025), organized by The ICFAI University, Dehradun in collaboration with the Soft Computing Research Society (SCRS), New Delhi, was successfully held on June 13–14, 2025. The conference served as a high-impact platform for the exchange of innovative ideas and research findings in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer vision, intelligent systems, and emerging technologies. With 1,288 research papers submitted from 13 different countries—including the USA, UK, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, and India—the event drew global attention. Out of these, only 149 papers were accepted and registered, resulting in a highly selective acceptance rate of 12%, underscoring the academic excellence of the submissions.

The accepted papers were peer-reviewed by a panel of 673 expert reviewers, and the conference content will be published in the SCOPUS-indexed Springer book series “Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems,” ensuring wide dissemination among the scholarly community. The conference hosted 29 parallel sessions, covering four main tracks: Data Analytics and Computing, Intelligent Systems, Intelligent Vision and Applications, and Emerging Technologies. It featured 7 keynote sessions, 4 industry-invited talks, and a total of 26 invited speakers and 27 keynote speakers from both academia and industry.

The conference was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Ram Karan Singh, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI University, Dehradun. In his welcome address, he emphasized the university’s growing global engagement and its vision to foster interdisciplinary and industry-aligned research. Prof. (Dr.) C. R. Ramola, Registrar, praised the collaborative spirit of the organizers and participants. The chief guest, Prof. (Dr.) Duresh Pant, Director General, UCOST, delivered an inspiring address on how soft computing technologies can simplify complex real-life problems and support state and national development. Col. Ajay Kothiyal (Retd.), renowned for his work in national service and education, shared motivational insights into how technology can be leveraged for societal benefit and defense strategies.

Noteworthy keynote speakers included Dr. Anchit Bijalwan, British University, Vietnam; Mr. Manish Kumar Jha, Defence Editor & Strategic Analyst at the United Services Institution of India (USI); and Dr. Sunil Kumar, London Metropolitan University, UK. Their talks covered critical issues such as AI in defense, future-ready computing skills, and global security implications of intelligent systems. These sessions were enthusiastically received by the academic and professional community attending ICIVC 2025.

The organizing team played a pivotal role in the event’s success. Prof. (Dr.) Puneet Kumar Gupta, General Chair and Associate Dean – Research at ICFAI University, led the efforts, ensuring a well-coordinated and intellectually rich program. He was supported by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Singh Rathore (Manipal University Jaipur) and Prof. (Dr.) Ajith Abraham (President, SCRS) as Conference Chairs. The Program Chairs, Dr. Vandana Bhatt and Dr. Aayushi Saini, contributed significantly to curating the academic sessions and managing the review process.

The conference received prominent media coverage. The English daily The Hawk (dated June 18, 2025) published an extensive article featuring highlights from the event. The report applauded ICFAI University’s role in positioning itself as a research-driven institution and praised the leadership of Dr. Puneet Kumar Gupta for bringing international stature to the event. The article also captured insights from keynote sessions, the inauguration ceremony, and the university’s broader research initiatives.
